11 Best Design Resources Released This Week

It’s been a great week if you’re a fan of quality digital design goods. Here’s my round up of some of the most useful free and premium design goodies release in the past week or so, in no particular order.

Pointer – Illustrator Art Brushes

Pointer by Sam Jones is a flexible set of 30 art brushes to easily convert any path or shape into a handy stylised arrow with one click. A very useful resource to have and only $4. A must have for sure.

Sketch Text Effect PSD

This PSD template uses smart objects to create a realistic sketch effect for any text or shape. The file includes 3 different styles with changeable color via adjustment layer. Very unique and totally free.

Flatties Vol 3

Flatties by UIParade is on it’s 3rd release. There has already been two awesome packs of icons released and this 3rd set helps make the Fatties icons some of the most beautiful, and useful icons around.

CraftType – 3D Sign Painting Actions

CraftType by RetroSupply is a unique pack of various actions and resources to help you create the look of hand painted 3D signs. You have full control over how the effect looks and it comes with some useful instructions. Dustin has also put together a handy video overview:

Free Hand Made Patterns

These Hand Made Patterns by Lane Kinkade were released for free on Dribbble. I wasn’t familiar with Lane’s work, but I’m a fan now.

Budicon -850 Scalable Vector Icon

Budicon an extensive set of 850 Scalable Vector Icons. Available as vector shapes and delivered in 5 sizes, optimized for mobile, web & interface design. $39 for 850 icons is a very fair price.

3 Free Geometric Patterns

3 Free Geometric Patterns is a set of 3 geometric backgrounds that is free to be used in your personal projects only. They file consists of three 2500 x 2500 px (at 300 dpi) jpg files and three fully editable ai files. They can easily be integrated into any web or print project.

Streamline Icons. These icons are made in the iOS7 style and are probably the largest set you can get your hands on. It goes without saying these are a must have for anybody designing or building mobile apps, but they can be used in so many other ways.

Industry Inc. Layered Typeface

Industry Inc comprises numerous stand-alone styles along with a layered type system. Think of it as a toolbox equipping designers with extensive typographic options and combinations.
