Design Resources Pack #1: The Grunge Pack, Brushes, Fonts, Textures etc…
Welcome to the very first edition of our Design Resources Pack, the basic idea behind this is; we collect a load of resources around a certain theme or style and put them together in one place.
Grunge is a style which is often misunderstood. Grunge doesn’t always have to mean really over the top dirty and dark. Today grunge comes in many forms, subtle grunge effects seem to be more common than just completely “grunging” something up. Whether you choose to be subtle, or over-the-top with your Grunge style here are some amazing resources to help you out.

Here is a new addition, a set that we ourselves have made. The idea behind this one is to have some very soft grunge effects which you can use to build up texture.

Now, these are some brushes which have been around for some time, but they really are the best grunge brushes I’ve ever used. Most of them are quite subtle and can be used to great effect.

Using some old style floral patterns can really add to any grunge look. Some sweet decoration mixed with some grunge can really help give a great balance.

To help enhance the organic grunge feel you can use various elements such as flowers, trees etc… Anything to help get across that natural / eroded feel.

A variety of Sources here, but watercolour brushes can help add texture, or colour to your Grunge Design, if used cleverly.

Want something to look really rough, add some scribbles to it! A really nice effect which can add some much needed texture and depth to your look.

Splats are a common method to help Grunge up anything, I think used together splats & smudges can give a great organic reel.

A good way to add a touch of class to your designs is with ornaments, these organic sweeping shapes look very regal & decorative, take a look!

Black Widdow
Quite Hard to find some Grunge Font’s that haven’t been included in Danny Outlaw’s post, but looking through some of my fonts I managed to find a few. Here’s a great one.

This is a great font, the sketched look is a huge part of grunge design, this font would be great used with the smudges & scribble brushes mentioned above.

Very dirty and elegant font, a great mix of styles which I think work very well together.

Another pretty useful grunge style font, as usual free to use. A great way of adding instant 20 years of grunge to your text.

JA Font
This font is very bold, big bold and grungy. It’s quite a nice font but one you’d only really get to use in certain special occasions, nevertheless a very nice looking font.

Another nice sketched style grunge font, I think this is a beautiful font, so much so I even used it in a upcoming WordPress theme. Great addition to your font collection.

Fantastic resource list.
Found a new site called http://www.fonts2u.com. These guys have over 20k free fonts nicely categorized
and what I really liked is the extended search they offer. You may search thru all character
maps. I was trying to find fonts with Japanese characters. I simply selected desired character
map, hit search and got fonts supporting them. Really cool and effective.

Nice textures. I am downloading now – but if you have problems like this in future you might want to think about uploading to Singapore Drupal – I have not yet heard of them having any problems with downloads being unavailable, and I have texture freebies available there myself.
If you’re interested just search for “franontheedge”… in fact I hope to have some more new textures to upload there soon.

A pack of quality vector grunge splats and brush marks that can be scaled to any size.
The grunge style and (Vector Grunge Packs) have been around for a long time and continues to play a large role in many design projects. Its often very time consuming to create your won vector grunge elements for designs, but thankfully many vector artists have come to the rescue!
