We’re finally ready to present our free wordpress theme to you. The theme is called “outdoorsy” and it’s perfect for the individual who wants something “slightly” different from your usual standard free theme. This theme is very unique, and quite graphics heavy, which we are aware of. But if you are after something unique you sometimes have to expect longer load times.

Update: We’ve reduced the file size dramatically! It’s now 1mb lighter

The Details

Paper Look

We wanted the design to almost just look like a scrap of paper that you’ve just jotted your thoughts down on while you were out in some field somewhere on a hot summers day, which is why there is flowers & grass and a really great paper texture used in the design. It helps give a more organic and less straight edged look.

Backgrounds & Repeatable Elements

Yeah, so admittedly not your usual background, but I’d say the theme would be nowhere near as effective without the background, so I’d say its quite a vital part. It was a challenge to get the various elements that would be repeatable worked out, but in the end we found a solution which worked just great. The theme is fully widgetized and easy to install.

Outdoorsy Free Theme Detail

This theme was more of an experiment than anything, just a way of trying to make a Wordpress theme which looked very organic with very few straight lines and edges. If you are after a free theme as creative as your content, then this is for you. A big thank you to our Developer Spencer who really spent a lot of time getting the design to work seamlessly, and making everything work for you guys.
