Themes: Sketch’d Grunge Style Premium Wordpress Theme Is Now available
UNIQUE GRUNGE WORDPRESS THEME FROM FUNCTION NOW AVAILABLE
We’ve been teasing you with previews for a while, but now the beautiful Sketch’d theme is now available. The theme is available for Download securely via Wordpress-Designers. Price is only $49 for a single licence. The theme is something which was set out to be very unique and striking, with a very rough and sketchy feel to it. I’d say its ideal for a individual who’s looking for that little bit more.

Goals for the design
As I already mentioned we wanted the theme to be as unique and noticable as possible. The theme is very unique & made in the grunge style, with a great use of textures and special touches to help build the overall feel of the theme. This theme is perfect for any creative individual or somone who’s looking for a theme which will get them noticed.
The Details
Unique Touches
There are loads of little unique touches in the design which add to the overall flow and feel of the site, things such as theshare this article (below), the featured story, the polaroid image effect, the RSS feed section, and the sidebar decorations… Just to name a few of the lovely little touches we added to the design.

Typography
To help with the unique and elegant feel, mixed with the grunge/rough elements we chose some very complimentary fonts which we think worked nicely with the design and the overall style.
Grunge
Yeah, we’re mad on grunge at the moment. But I think you will agree that we’ve kept it as tastful and as elegant as we could. Again we tried to find a balance with the grunge elements with the elegance of the typeface etc. The grunge effects are used to help add texture and compliment the content and design rather than to overpower anything.

Looks nice Liam. Much different style than most of the premium themes available right now.

Very cool.
Hope we see more themes soon.
The Articles link in the nav at the top does not seem to be working.
John Bailey said:
It certainly has the looks but it’s way too graphic heavy to be of any practical use. It’s more like a museum piece than a functional design.
liam said:
@ John Bailey, Thanks, It is graphics heavy, but I don’t think that makes it any less functional, there’s still a lot of features and it will work just like any other theme. I think if you’re after something this unique you wouldn’t be too worried about that, but that’s my opinion. Thanks for sharing yours though.
@Steven, Thanks man that was our aim
@Bruce, For sure, there’s plenty more themes to come and the articles will work once we have more article based contents online, at the moment it’s just news and updates, but we have some articles lined up.

This is a great grunge theme. There’s certainly a lack of quality grunge themes out there, so this should be popular. To be honest the load time worries me a bit, but I agree with you Liam that the “design conscious” types that would utilize this theme won’t be scared by that. I’m looking to forward to keeping up with your future projects. Bravo!

@Cory - I appreciate your concerns for sure. However I think we need more variety in the world of themes. For sure this does take a little longer to load than your standard theme, but we wanted to do something a little extra, and this is for those who want that something extra.
We will be bringing out more themes, not all of which will be as graphics heavy, but as I said it’s all about variety and we’re still very proud of this theme. Thanks for your comments & kind words
@Pasquale - Thanks, glad you like it!

Is there any styling with images in a post? I see that there is a border around the image in the featured post, but didn’t see an example of an image within a post. Is there default image styling?

@super rats There is no image styling within posts, only on the featured posts I’m afraid. Thanks.
super rats said:
Not a problem. Considering my posts generally have 10+ images in them, it would probably save on the load time, plus can add a border style anyway. More curious than anything. I’ll keep this theme in mind. It’s been about six months since I last changed themes. I’ve grown to like small headers or headers off to the side like in my current theme, which is really the only reason I’m not immediately jumping to this one. On looks and type alone I really do love it.

@super rats, cool - Glad you like the looks and thanks for the comments whatever you decide to do. Cheers.

Looks really good. Saw it on a friend’s blog and thought I would check it out. Very different and elegant when compared to other themes that go around these days.
liam said:
@moserw thanks man appreciate the comment - yeah our aim was to create something which was very different and stood out, thankfully it seems to have made that impression on a lot of people.

Hey Liam,
So I loved this theme enough to buy it. It have just a couple of issues though after making the template live in Wordpress…
The blog title doesn’t work with #logo setting in style.css. All it displays is the ’sketch’d’ graphic. So, my question is, what font have you used on the logo.gif image?
Secondly, the three areas below the header (featured post) don’t populate with anything. Is there an additional tag or plugin that must be activated?
Thanks and good work!

Just wanted to tell you that I love this theme. I bought it and tweaked it for my erotica website.
Well done! And well worth the modest premium price, I think.
And yes, there’s over-18 content at my site. So, if you visit from this comment, don’t say you weren’t warned.

2]Get your own Nintendo Wii
The games console with one of the strangest names on the planet (it’s pronounced ‘wee’) is also one of the most innovative. In fact, with its potential to change the face of the gaming landscape, Wii may be on the verge of a new era, if you’ll pardon the pun.
The $400 Wii package comprises a square white console unit and stand that plugs into your TV or AV receiver, a wireless sensor bar that connects to the console and receives wireless commands from the battery-powered paddle-style Wiimote controller. Basic composite cables are supplied, but if you have a plasma or LCD the $50 component cable options will deliver better picture quality. The console also supports an SD slot, USB port and a DVD drive for games.
Games data can be saved to SD memory cards, which weren’t officially released at the time of publication, but in lieu of their arrival, GameCube memory cards will suffice. The USB port can’t be used to save games either, but will enable future hardware upgrades such as a hard drive or DVD player, although no announcements have been made to this effect.
Despite its DVD drive, the console is not a DVD player (a modification chip is required if you want to watch movies). Nor is it the high definition, hard drive-toting, networked multimedia online multiplayer gaming machine that is the Xbox 360 or forthcoming Playstation 3. Instead, it presents as the most affordable ‘next generation’ games machine available and, certainly, lacks for no important ingredients if you want to have fun.
